Scope This symposium will focus on opportunities for electrification in iron and steelmaking processes. Topics will include electrification of ore processing (sintering, drying etc.), hydrogen direct reduction, thermal management, hydrogen plasma-based reduction, electrified furnaces (reheating, smelting and electric arc furnaces), and other novel technologies. We will also include a session on the evolution & development of electrical power generation, distribution, storage & management systems that underpin process electrification. Our symposium will include pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, and cross pollination opportunities from connecting electrification strategies in other industries to iron and steelmaking. Topics will include decarbonization for

     1.     Pre-Processing (ore preparation)
     2.     Green Ironmaking Strategies
     3.     Cross Pollination between Industries

Novel technologies, models, and strategies will be presented, including process development, refinement, and transformation.
