Abstract Scope Several works have been done on the study of corrosion behavior, and many other functional characteristics of metallic parts at macroscale level. but not much work has been done at miniaturize scale. This may be attributed to lack of suitable testing tools to undertake such studies. Finite element methods (FEM) have been widely used to perform analyses of several functional behavior of material in several applications. The present research develops a computational model for the simulation of flow-induced corrosion damages in multiscale applications using ANSYS Multiphysics. The study investigates the effect of hydraulic bulge process on the fluid flow and its degradation effect on the multiscale fluidic devices manufactured using hydroforming of annealed AISI 304 stainless steel. The surface roughness of the hydroformed parts were measured at different strain level using the atomic force microscope, the results obtained were used to create finite element model.
