||C-1: Preparation of Battery-grade Ferrous Oxalate by Screening of Reaction Conditions

Ferrous oxalate, a kind of chemical material, is widely used as chemical precursors of synthetic nanomaterials, ceramic superconductors or catalysts. In this study, battery-grade ferrous oxalate was prepared by using liquid-phase precipitation method for raw material of lithium-ion battery. Various factors such as the concentration of ferrous sulfate and oxalic acid solution, reaction temperature, pH values, stirring speed and dispersant proportion were investigated to prepare high-performance ferrous oxalate by Plackett-Burman design (PBD). Results revealed that the model owned a good fitted response and a good liner correlation with the date of Adj R-Squire, C.V, and Adeq Precision. The reaction temperature, pH values, concentration of ferrous sulfate and aging time had significant effects on the particle size of ferrous oxalate. The concentration of ferrous sulfate had substantial negative effects on particle size and the purity of ferrous oxalate.
