||Influence of Operation Parameters on Sticking Behavior of Pellet in COREX Shaft Furnace

The sticking behaviors of iron ores in COREX shaft furnace have great influence on the productivity of COREX process. In this study, the influence of temperature, reducing gas volume, and the melting rate on the sticking behaviors of pellet in COREX shaft furnace are studied. What is more, the matching methods of temperature and reducing gas volume, temperature and melting rate were also studied to control the sticking. The results showed that the sticking index and metallization ratio increased with the increase of temperature and reducing gas volume, decreased with the increase of melting rate. However, the sticking of pellet could be controlled at low level by the proper matching method on the condition that the metallization ratios are still kept at high level, such as high temperature match with high melting rate, high temperature match with low gas volume.
