||Phase Field Simulation for the Cementite Shape’s Effect on the Cementite Spheroidization

Cementite spheroidization can be accelerated by working before spheroidization annealing. However the detail of the working process’s effect on spheroidization is unclear. So in this study, cementite shape change by working was focused among several factors for accelerating cementite spheroidization.And this cementite shape’s effect on cementite spheroidization of Fe-C binary alloy was examined by phase field simulation. The main types of cementite shape change by working are the sheared shape of plate-like cementite and the fracture of cementite. Therefore the behaviors of cementite spheroidization in these cases were simulated.
As the result, the cementite shape changed by shear deformation mostly did not affect the cementite spheroidization rate. On the other hand, the simulation result showed that the cementite spheroidization rate was accelerated in case of the cementite fractured by working.
