||O-3: Additive Manufacturing of Epoxy Resin Matrix Reinforced with Magnetic Particles

In this research, polymer composites of epoxy resin matrix with magnetite particles were fabricated by additive manufacturing using the direct ink writing (DIW) technique. Four different formulations of epoxy resin-magnetite powders were fabricated, from which only one showed promising results regarding the dimensional stability and finishing of the printed samples. This formulation was 33.6wt% of epoxy and 66.4wt% of magnetite powder, which was used for the fabrication of samples.
Compression tests were performed over all printed parts over samples printed longitudinally and perpendicularly with respect to the printing direction. In addition, microstructural characterization was performed by optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Different geometries were printed as well in order to observe the feasibility materials and technique.
