| Abstract Scope |
Syntactic metal and ceramic composites offer high compressive strengths at 30-60% reduced density compared to conventional materials. Powdermet has developed and manufactures a class of three-phase syntactic metal and ceramic composites for high temperature, and energy dissipation applications. This paper will present and discuss the microstructure- processing - properties relationships within SComP(TM) syntactic metal composite and Synfoam(TM) syntactic ceramic composite materials. |
