||Effect of Cover Material on the Oxidation Speed of Prebaked Anodes

Reducing anode oxidation is one of the most important function of the cover material in the aluminium electrolysis cell. Te effect of the cover material type on the anode oxidation speed was studied. The result showed that the anode oxidation speed was greatly reduced if the anode was covered. The anode oxidation speed is reduced with increase of the thickness of the cover material. Compared to fresh alumina and fluorinated alumina, practical cover material has better effect on reducing anode oxidation speed.
