||PP-37: Study of Powder Metallurgy on Low Melting Temperature Al Alloys for Brazing by Gas Atomizer Process

Aluminum and its alloys, due to their low density and high specific strength amongst various structural materials, are potential candidates for many automotive and aerospace applications. A gas atomizer process is appropriated for easily mass production, the find particle size and high mechanical properties compared to casting Al alloys. Brazing technology of Al components need to apply in automotive and electrical industry. In the present study, we studied effects of Sn element addition on microstructure and thermal properties of Al-Si based alloys. Experimental specimens are manufactured by gas atomizer. The thermal properties of Al-Si based powders were investigated in the temperature range room temperature to 700℃ using DSC and the results were correlated with development of the microstructure.
