Abstract Scope |
The development of additive manufacturing in the last decade has created numerous challenges for technologists and producers such as cost reducing production of aluminum alloy powders (AAPs) to follow the market trends. Depending on the method, the prime yield for the production of AAPs may be as low as 20-25%. In this regard, UC RUSAL has developed new technologies for the processing of sieve residues from the atomization of aluminum alloys with the production of two types of products: a foaming agent for autoclaved aerated concrete and a pigment paste for automotive industry. This novel approach will allow to achieve the buy-to-fly ratio more than 95% and will ensure the significant decrease of the cost of AAPs for 3D printing. |
