Isothermal compression tests were performed in the two-phase and single-phase beta regions of a Ti-6Al-4V alloy. The beta phase fractions increased after deformation at 930°C and 960°C but remained unchanged at 900°C, as well as at 1000°C, 1020°C and 1040°C (i.e. above the transus). It is shown that the driving forces for transformation are higher than the energy barriers opposing it at 930°C and 960°C, but not at 900°C.
