The large part of the produced aluminum hydroxides and oxides from bauxites and other aluminum content raw materials has non-metallurgical use. Activated aluminum oxide is one of the chemical grade aluminas. This product is using in adsorption and catalytic processes and for other purposes. Pseudoboehmite is the most important precursor for activated alumina. Alumina products and chemical manufacture using for raw materials production.
The conceptual technology of PB production for AOA in all instances discussed above considering using of industrial aluminum-content liquors. These liquors are neutralizing with intense mixing, then are dewatering with pressure filter, then are washing with PB catalyst. Choosing of compromise process technology for specific alumina plant should be done on feasibility study and depends on customer needs, technology specific of alumina production etc.
Comparison of rheological properties, pores structure, and AOA granules properties was done for pseudoboehmite produced with alumina, sulfate and nitrate technologies.
