||Dielectric Properties and Microwave Heating Characteristics of Nickel-copper Ore

Microwave energy has considerable potential for various applications in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy. The dielectric properties variations of minerals and ores with temperature and chemical composition are needed to be measured. In this study, dielectric property of nickel-copper ore were measured over a temperature range of 100-500℃ at 2.45GHz by using a resonant cavity method measurement system. The results show that the dielectric constant, loss factor and loss tangent increase with temperature rising at 2.45GHz. The penetration depth decrease with temperature rising, Considering dielectric properties, it is recommended to limit the drying bed thickness within 2 cm. microwave heating characteristics of nickel-copper ore shows the mineral has a good microwave absorption ability.
