||Simulation of Velocity Field of Molten Steel in Electric Arc Furnace Steelmaking

The application of the bottom-blowing in the steelmaking process of EAF can shorten the mixing time of the molten bath effectively, accelerate the removal of carbon, phosphorus and sulfur and improve the production efficiency and product quality. Study changes of the velocity of molten steel during the smelting process by establishing numerical models can help to obtain the information of molten bath accurately. In this paper, the steelmaking process of the EAF with bottom-blowing under different eccentric bottom-blowing gas flow situation was simulated by some numerical simulation software. The velocity field data during the process were obtained according to the velocity field of different bottom-blowing schemes. When other nozzles’ bottom-blowing gas flow rates were maintained at 133Q/min, the average velocity of molten steel in the bath was increased from 4.126m/s to 4.610m/s with the eccentric gas flow rate of bottom-blowing from 100L/min to 267L/min.
