Abstract Scope |
The search for ideal mixture of aggregates in order to increase mortar density, becomes an interesting proposal in terms of mortar properties improvement. During ornamental rocks processing, about 25 to 30% of the blocks are transformed into powder as waste. In view of this situation, this work proposes the rock waste incorporation as partial replacement of sand by using Alfred's mathematical model to calculate the ideal granulometric distribution. The elaborated mortars in this work are based on portland cement CPII E 32, hydrated lime CHIII, sand and residue from the processing of ornamental rocks, denominated as rock waste. The raw materials were characterized in terms of granulometric distribution. It can be concluded the efficiency in use ornamental rock waste and mathematical model for granulometric optimization aiming to improve mortar density due to improvements at evaluated properties. |
