Abstract Scope |
Friction stir welding (FSW) has become the preferred welding process for aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy and other lightweight materials. However, the dynamic evolution of the tool force and its influence on the welding process are still not clear. The research on the mechanism of "thermal-fluid-solid" coupling in the welding process is still not deep enough. In this research, the "thermal-fluid-solid" coupling numerical model of friction stir welding of aluminum alloy was established. The dynamic variation of tool force, the evolution of temperature field and material flow behaviors in FSW, and those effects on the formation of void defects in the welds were analyzed systematically and quantitatively. It lays a solid foundation for further optimizing the friction stir welding of aluminum alloy. |
