The AlFeNiCuCrZrxSiy (x, y = 0, 1) high entropy alloys were synthesized by nonconsumable arc melting in argon atmosphere. The effects of Zr and Si additions on the microstructures, mechanical properties, and corrosion behavior of the based alloys have been examined, using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electronic microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy, Vickers hardness tests, electrochemical measurements, and immersion tests. The results show that the addition of Zr and Si elements can improve the Vickers hardness of the based alloys. However, the Zr addition decreases the corrosion resistance of the AlFeNiCuCr alloys at room temperature. The effects of Zr and Si additions on microstructure on the based alloys were discussed.
