Abstract Scope |
This work presents an analysis of the solid wire dip influence in the melt pool using Cold Metal Transfer (CMT). This study allowed a better understanding of the dynamic phenomena involved in this process and the characteristics of the weld bead, with the objective of using this process in additive manufacturing (MA) applications of large metal parts in non-enclosed environments, can also be used in applications offshore or even as a tool for the evolution of industry 4.0 in IoT (internet of things) applications. The monitoring of the experiment was conducted with the use of high-speed filming, allowing both the wire dynamic movement characterization and monitoring of the electrical signals by the data acquisition system, with a frequency of 10 kHz. The demand for technological development in the acquisition of data from this process resulted in a new resource in monitoring the wire dynamics movement. It was concluded that the plunge of the solid wire in the molten metal pool increases the deposition rate in 29%. The weld bead geometry obtained presented desirable characteristics for the WAAM technique by additive manufacturing process. |
