Abstract Scope |
Corrosion is the degradation of the material and this can lead to considerable damage. It is estimated that in industrialized countries losses can range from 3% to 5% of gross domestic product (GDP) and that if appropriate knowledge were applied at least half could be avoided, and with the development of new materials, coatings and surface treatments industries could not wait periods of ten years to put a certain material on the market and with that the salt spray test, called Salt Spray, was used. After the tests it was observed that the samples with liquid coatings applied with pistol and the uncoated samples were strongly attacked while the epoxy resin coated specimens of electrostatic form presented an excellent performance which makes these types of coating have a greater resistance in marine environments, which are usually more aggressive. |
