Abstract Scope |
The performance of petroleum coke directly affects the quality of carbon materials. Two kinds of petroleum cokes were calcined at high temperature, and variation of real density of petroleum cokes was investigated during the calcining process. At the same time, the relationship between real density and temperature, graphitizing degree, impurities, elemental composition of petroleum cokes were analyzed. The research indicates that real densities of these petroleum cokes at the same temperature are basically the same, which is 2.12 -2.23 g/cm3. Besides, there is a positive correlation between graphitizing degree and real density decided by escape of volatile components and evolution of pyrolysic condensation during the calcining process. In addition, the escape of impurity elements and different material composition of the cokes are also the important factors that affect real density. |
