Abstract Scope In bending procedure, the inner material experience tension-unloading-compression deformation for a prestrained sheet. Thus the Bauschinger behavior has an influence on the bending springback and punch load of a prestrained sheet. Using this idea, a prestrain-bending approach to measure the Bauschinger behavior has been proposed in the previous work [Shun-lai Zang, Myoung-Gyu Lee, Li Sun, Ji Hoon Kim, 2014. Measurement of the Bauschinger hehavior of sheet metals by three-point bending springback test with prestrained strips. International Journal of Plasticity 59, 84-107.]. In this paper, a sensitivity analysis of the Bauschinger behavior on the three-point bending springback and punch load of the prestrained sheet is investigated. The work will provide a knowledge on how to design the prestrain amounts and bending parameters for the suggested prestrain-bending approach.
