| Abstract Scope |
Interest into multiferroic materials have been increasing in recent years due to their many technical applications, particularly magnetoelectrics. The concept of using magnetoelectrics for low-field sensor in space and aeronautics applications is a novel idea and thus should be studied as a function of temperature. In this study a systematic approach has been taken and an experimental set-up is designed to measure magnetoelectric properties under various AC and DC magnetic and electric fields and in a broad temperature range down to liquid nitrogen temperature. Several composite material samples were measured for the magentoelectric properties under experimental parameters. Measurements were also carried out on the effective permittivity and dielectric loss (tanδ) of NiFe2O4/Pb(Zr,Ti)O3/NiFe2O4 magnetoelectric samples as a function of field and temperature that demonstrated the magnetodielectric effect in the material. |
