| Abstract Scope |
Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films have a lower adhesion on metallic substrates caused by high residual stress. The silver nanoparticles are added in order to improve the adhesion between film and substrate and to advance the tribological properties. In this work, DLC films with the addition of silver nanoparticles were grown on AISI 301 steel by cathodic cage discharge configuration of PACVD. The plasma atmosphere was a mixture of N2, H2 and CH4 using different power values. The deposition processes were monitored by OES to investigate the influence of the active species in the properties of the obtained films. The tribomechanical properties as the friction coefficient and the wear coefficient were analyzed by calowear, pin on disk tribometry and perfilometry. The roughness and the surface characteristics were verified by AFM. Therefore the compositions of obtained phases were analyzed by Raman and EDS. |
