Presentation Title JOB-3: Experimental Material Scientist with Microscopy and Diffraction Tools
Author(s) Raghavendra K G
On-Site Speaker (Planned) Raghavendra K G
Abstract Scope The quest for the fundamental aspects that govern the materials behavior has been my motivation to take up research. I am Raghavendra K. G, pursuing Ph.D (Physical Sciences) from HBNI, IGCAR, Kalpakkam, India, submitting my thesis by May – 2017, supervised by Dr. Arup Dasgupta. I completed my Masters in Physics from NITK Surathkal, in 2011. I am working on ZrO2 dispersoid strengthened Fe based ODS alloys. Electron Microscopy (TEM & SEM), XRD and Calorimetry are major tools of my investigation. Being part of a multi-disciplinary research group helped me gain expertise in FIB - liftout technique on wide range of materials, including powders. With ample collection of tools in my kit to justly investigate a material, I am ready to take up the bigger challenge. Post Ph.D, I am looking for an opportunity in academia or industry which will expose me to challenges that test my skills and knowledge.
