||Creep Behavior of Single Phase FCC Medium and High Entropy Alloys

High entropy alloy research at NETL has focused on face centered cubic single phase variants, combining design with manufacture and evaluation of mechanical properties. Tensile behavior of these FCC HEAs has shown similarity with 300 series austenitic stainless steel. The engineering stress-strain curves are characterized by low yield stress with extended work hardening and high ductility. Creep tests have also been performed to assess high temperature fossil energy application potential. Screening creep tests were performed on all alloys with one HEA composition selected for in-depth study with respect to overall behavior and microstructural stability. Alloys will be described and the tensile and creep results will be discussed.
