Abstract Scope |
The aim of this study is investigating the effects of pass numbers of the FSW butt weld joints of 7075 aluminum alloy on microstructure and mechanical properties. At first, the combinations of rotational speed and travel speed have been used and the optimum sample with regard to lack of the surface and metallurgical defects and the maximum value of ultimate tensile strength has been selected. Then the FSW was performed with or without CNTs nanoparticles for different pass numbers. Also, the use of four continuous pass welding causes an increase of 40 MPa in tensile strength and 25 Hv in hardness value in comparison to sample without adding nanoparticles. |
