||The Mechanism of Structural Rejuvenation in Recovery Annealed Metallic Glasses

Structural rejuvenation has been recently attracting much attention in the metallic glass fields and focusing on its great importance for fundamental research as well as industrial application. The authors have verified the structural rejuvenation phenomenon from the specific heat and thermal expansion measurements. However, the details of its mechanism (e.g. which relaxation parts are mostly related to the rejuvenation) are still unclear.
In this study, we discuss the mechanism of its phenomenon from the viscoelastic point of view. We prepared ribbon samples with different thermal histories (i.e. as-cast, annealed, recovery annealed) and measured the loss modulus of each obtained from the dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The present study provides useful information on the relaxation studies.
