Abstract Scope The presence of arsenic in waters has been reported to be both harmful and carcinogenic by several studies. Among the multifarious strategies like filtration, coagulation, ion exchange, membrane separation, etc., that have been utilized for the expulsion of arsenic from water, adsorption proffers numerous benefits including uncomplicated and steady process, no additional reagents, effortless handling of waste, compact facilities, and commonly lower process expenditure, though the demand for technical invention for water cleansing is gaining so much awareness universally. Nanoscale materials have been thought to play an essential function in delivering pure and inexpensive water to satisfy human needs. This study describes the summary of zinc nanoparticles and their efficacy in arsenic displacement from water. The report accentuates the application of zinc NPs and their features, mechanistic pathway, and benefits over the traditional adsorbents used in arsenic expulsion from polluted water.
