| Abstract Scope |
Alodine EC<SUP>2</SUP> coating is a new coating technology developed by Henkel Corporation to improve the corrosion and wear resistance for aluminum alloys. This coating is electrodeposited from the electrical assisted hydrolysis of metal complexes. Various experiments showed that Alodine EC<SUP>2</SUP> coating could provide superior resistance for harsh and demanding applications such as marine and high temperature engine environments against corrosion and wear. This presentation will introduce the mechanism of Alodine EC<SUP>2</SUP> coating on aluminum alloys, and also provide experiment results of the corrosion and wear resistance improvement by Alodine EC<SUP>2</SUP> coating. |
