The last decade has seen the emergence of a set of parameters for predicting the stability of solid solutions for highly concentrated multicomponent alloys. Thermodynamical information of simple systems has successfully been combined to predict the occurrence of high entropy alloys (HEAs). Moreover, a novel approach for modelling their mechanical properties has recently been proposed. All these models can be consolidated to optimise mechanical properties for potential HEAs.
A mathematical approach, based on a simplified matrix description of their expressions, is proposed to combine several designing parameters. This provides the opportunity to design HEAs by using optimisation methods to maximise the probability of achieve high strength HEAs, whilst a vast number of compositions are taken into consideration.
