||Discussion on Pouring Process Parameters Based on Slow Solidification Experiment of Extra - Thick Plate Mold

Taking a 420mm extra-thick slab mold as a research object,based on the similarity principle, a special thick slab mold device for hot test was designed. The flow condition and heat transfer of molten steel during the mold test were studied by AnyCasting software. The effects of casting temperature, superheat and gate position on the flow field and temperature field of the special slab mold were investigated. The results show that when the molten steel pouring speed is 0.7m / s, the superheat degree is 45 ℃, the gate position is in the center of the cross section of the mold, the free liquid surface velocity and the depth of injection point are more suitable. More reasonable; at the same time the temperature distribution of molten steel within the mold is relatively uniform, is conducive to the formation of uniform shell. The results provide reasonable process parameters for thermal experiment.
