||Effect of Ferric Ions on Bioleaching of Pentlandite Concentrate

The effect of ferric phosphate and ferric sulphate as nutrient and oxidant on intensification of bioleaching of pentlandite concentrate with A. f and S. t were studied. The results shown that for both strains, leaching rate was enhanced continually with the concentration of FePO4 and Fe2(SO4)3 increasing, however the leaching rate was declined at higher level. For A. f and S. t, the best addition of FePO4 was 26.52 mM/L and the leaching rate was reached to 98.06% and 98.11% respectively. Compared with FePO4, the best content of Fe2(SO4)3 was 13.26 mM/L and 19.90 mM/L and the leaching rate reached 71.76% and 70.3% respectively. The leaching rate with 26.52 mM/LFePO4 was 1.83 times and 1.55 times of nothing added by A. f and S. t.
