||A Novel Adsorption-reduction Method for the Preparation of Nano-Bi@super P Composites

Nano-Bismuth@super P composites were successfully synthesized by an ingenious adsorption-reduction method. The EDTA-Bi was adsorbed on the surface of super P particles evenly and been calcined into Nano size Bi2O3. Then the Nano-Bismuth@super P composites were obtained by reduce the Bi2O3 with NaBH4. The composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and thermogravimetry analysis. It is found that around 10 nm bismuth particles distributed evenly on the surface of super P particles. The effects of calcination temperature on the morphology and properties of Bi2O3 and Bi were investigated. The result shows production and size of the Nano-Bi particles were directly influenced by calcination temperature, indicating the decomposition temperature of the EDTA-Bi is the key to obtain appropriate Nano-Bi@super P composites. This novel and simple adsorption-reduction method is also applied to evenly dot with Nano-Bi particles on the surface of some other materials.
