| Abstract Scope |
The intermediate temperature phase stability is a critical issue for both alloy design and construction of reliable thermodynamic databases, but there is a significant shortage of experimental phase diagrams at the intermediate temperatures. A novel dual-anneal diffusion multiple approach for high-efficiency determination of intermediate temperature phase diagrams was developed and applied to the study of the Fe-Cr-Ni and Fe-Cr-Mo ternary systems. This method is also a highly effective and systematic way to study phase precipitation. Elegant examples will be shown to demonstrate the novel methodology. |
