||Spatio-temporal Evolution Modeling of the Laser Helical Drilling with Femtosecond Pulses

With the feature of ultrashort pulse width and ultrahigh peak power, femtosecond laser helical drilling has been widely applied in micro-holes processing due to the real sense of ‘cold’ machining. Since the modeling of the evolution process during micro-hole drilling by femtosecond laser has become a tough issue so far, in this paper, the evolution process of the micro-holes forming at different feed rates was studied by a single factor experiment, the influence of the down rate of the focus on the temporal and spatial evolution of micro-holes was obtained; and the significant level of the rotation rate, single pulse energy, repetition frequency and feed rate of laser were investigated. Then the relationship between the four processing parameters and ablation depth was obtained by using BP neural network analysis and the spatio-temporal evolution model of the helical processing was investigated and the accuracy of the model was verified by experiment.
