||An Anisotropic Yield Model Reduced From The Yld2004-18p Function For Metals With Gentle Anisotropy Under Triaxial Loading

In this paper, an anisotropic yield function is proposed based on the Yld2004-18p function by substituting two nine-parameter linear transformation tensors by reduced six-parameter linear transformation tensors. The reduced Yld2004 function is applied to depict the anisotropic behavior of body-centered cubic and face-centered cubic metals to assess its accuracy. The application reveals that the reduced Yld2004 function can provide satisfactory modeling of anisotropic plastic deformation of metals with moderate anisotropy under spatial loading case. The reduced yield function is further implemented into ABAQUS/Explicit to predict the earing profile of AA2008-T4. The predicted earing profile is compared with experimental measurement. The comparison demonstrates that the reduced Yld2004 function predicts the earing height with acceptable accuracy. Considering the satisfactory accuracy and reduced cost for parameter calibration, the reduced Yld2004 function is recommended for modeling of anisotropic behavior of metals with moderate anisotropy when brick elements are used in numerical simulation of sheet metal forming.
