||OO-10: Current Status of Characterization of RPV Material from Decommissioned Zion NPP
||Mikhail Sokolov, Thomas Rosseel, Randy Nanstad
|On-Site Speaker (Planned)
This talk will present current plans and status to examine beltline weld and base metal from decommissioned Zion reactor pressure vessel, including the scheme of cutting, available blocks for examinations, type of specimens and characterization techniques. This RPV was in operation for about 17 EFPY. It is anticipated that peak fluence on the inside surface of the vessel was ~ 0.7x10^19 n/cm^2 (E>1MeV). The goal of this project is to examine attenuation and properties distribution through the thickness of the actual vessel and compare results with existing predictive equations.
