Abstract Scope |
Composites using natural fibers as reinforcement have been created interesting of industrial and scientific community due to the needs for eco-friendly materials that met the requirements of economy and environment responsibility. Initially the fibers were dimensionally characterized and embedded in polyurethane and epoxy. The impact tests were performed with bamboo fibers amount up to 40%vol and aligned along by entire length. The eco-friendly composites were submitted to Izod and Charpy impact testing. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was carried out to analyze the fracture region. The eco-friendly composites obtained have suitable properties for uses in technological applications, especially in the automotive, furniture and civil construction sectors.
