||Influence of Austenitizing Temperature and Time on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of an YP460 Grade Crack Arrest Steel

High strength steels with yield strength above 470MPa, i.e. EH47grade, are preferred steels for large container ships building due to their high strength, good toughness and weldability. A good combination of strength, toughness and weldability is strongly dependent on microalloying and microstructures. In this study, the continuous cooling transformation (CCT) of austenite are investigated systematically. The influence of aging heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties are investigated. The effects of microalloying, Nb, V and Ti and themomechanical control processing (TMCP) on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties are studied and discussed.
