Presentation Title MC-15: Achieving Exceptional Properties in High Temperature Materials Using Friction Stir Processing (FSP)

Abstract Scope The objective of my PhD is to obtain high strength and ductility values using friction stir processing in high temperature materials namely some beta titanium alloys like Ti185, Ti6246 and ultra-high strength steel, Eglin steel. Some of the mile stones achieved so far are as follows  Achieved exceptional strength and ductility combinations in some of the titanium alloys like Ti185 and Ti6246  FSP of Eglin steel resulted in a mixed type of microstructure. Screening results indicated tensile strength as high as 2.2GPa and ductility of 10% I have hands on experience using FSP and also various mechanical tests like tensile and hardness testing, microscopic techniques such as SEM (EDS, EBSD) and TEM and various powder metallurgy techniques. I would like to take this opportunity to be a part of firm where I can utilize my knowledge and experience to solve some critical scientific and engineering problems
