||Sensitization and Corrosion Properties of Sputtered Al-Mg Alloy

Al-Mg alloy films with columnar microstructures are prepared by magnetron sputtering. The sensitization of Al-Mg alloy is characterized by SEM, FIB and TEM. The effect of grain boundary plane orientation on β phase (Al3Mg2) precipitation is revealed. The corrosion behaviors of sputtered Al-Mg alloy are evaluated based on Nitric Acid Mass Loss Testing (NAMLT) and immersion test in NaCl solution. The results shows that the resistance to of sputtered Al-Mg alloy is improved compared with that of a bulk Al-Mg alloy.
