A ZK60 magnesium alloy was processed by high-pressure torsion (HPT) at room temperature up to 5 turns under a constant compressive pressure of 2.0 GPa and rotating speed of 1 rpm. The grain size distribution and texture were examined by electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD). An average grain size of ~700 nm was achieved after 5 turns of HPT. Tests were conducted in tension after HPT processing and the maximum elongation to failure was 415%.
