||N-23: Deformation Twins Induced by High-density Pt2Mo-type Superlattice Mediated Portevin-Le Chatelier-like Effect in Ni-Cr-Mo Alloy

Portevin–Le Chatelier (PLC)-like effect was observed in a Ni-Cr-Mo alloy containing ordered phase with Pt2Mo-type structure during uniaxial tensile tests at room temperature. The serrations exhibit an embedded characteristic, i.e. a small serration is embedded in two adjacent large serrations. It is demonstrated that the Pt2Mo-type superlattice phase has a stoichiometry of Ni2(Cr0.96Mo0.04) using atom probe tomography (APT). This kind of superlattice phase exhibits an outer-inter structure with spherical morphology, and the alloying elements of Cr and Cu mainly segregate in the outer layer of spherical precipitates, while Ni and Mo segregate in the inter layer. Formation of order–disorder transformation-induced twins and was responsible for the occurrence of the serrations.
