||O-45: Rheological and Fatigue Resistance of High Strength and High Conductivity Cu-Ag Alloys Wires

The paper presents the results of experimental researches on rheological and fatigue resistance tests carried out on the wires made from Cu-(3-7 wt.%)Ag alloys in as-cast state and after various thermo-mechanical treatment processes. The process of continuous melting and casting of rods and the process of drawing them to wires using pre- and intermediate heat treatments has been presented. Suitable thermo-mechanical treatments and cold drawing (total true strain more than 7) of obtained casts allowed to receive high mechanical (UTS=900-1370 MPa) and electrical (66-92 % IACS) properties of wires. The optimum parameters of the thermo-mechanical treatments of alloys were determined, enabling to obtain most preferable mechanical and electrical properties of wires. The influence of materials microstructure and their value of deformation on the changes in wires rheological and fatigue properties was also determined. In addition, a microstructural analysis was carried out on casts and wires using SEM and TEM microscopy.
