Presentation Title Metallographic Analysis of KAB Nanostructured Steels

Abstract Scope Bainitic steels, which exhibit rapid transformation kinetics at very low temperatures are termed KAB (kinetically activated bainite). The development of this group steels was extensively influenced by metallographic analysis, which served as a guide and confirmation of microstructure development. The presentation will cover what information can be obtained via metallography using different techniques in particularly color etching and how it was applied to the development and subsequent improvement of these steels.
