||Tensile Deformation of CP Titanium Using In-situ EBSD Analysis and Crystal Plasticity Simulations

Titanium and its alloys are used in a wide variety of engineering applications. The evolution of microstructure and texture during plastic deformation significantly affects final microstructure and properties. In particular, the alpha titanium alloys exhibit unique mechanical behavior due to the activation of multiple slip systems and twinning behaviors. In this study, the tensile deformation of CP titanium was analyzed using in-situ EBSD analysis and crystal plasticity simulations. The information of initial microstructure and orientation obtained by EBSD was used to develop crystal plasticity finite element model. Variations of microstructure and texture upon tensile deformation was measured by in-situ EBSD analysis and compared with the calculated results by crystal plasticity simulations.
