||Effect of Modified Humic Acid (MHA) Binder on Roasting Behavior Mongolian Tumurtei Iron Concentrate Briquettes

Modified humic acid (MHA) extracted from lignite a good quality composite binder for balling of iron concentrate. In this work, effect of MHA binder on roasting of Mongolia Tumurtei iron ore concentrate briquette in ambient atmosphere was studied, aiming to clarify optimal parameters of roasting behavior with MHA binder for iron making. The mechanical performance of green briquettes, preheating test, roasting test were investigated.Optimal MHA dosage was recommended as 1 wt. % by briquetting test. Under the optimal experimental condition of preheating temperature 950°C and preheating time 10 min, roasting temperature is 1250°C and the time is 10 min, the preheated briquettes have the compression strength more than 500 N/B, and roasted briquettes is 2250 N/B. The strength, oxidation degree of finished briquettes were provided to the requirements of blast furnace iron making.
