Abstract Scope |
The high-temperature mechanical properties of powder metallurgy (P/M) Ti-6Al-4V alloys, produced from blended elemental powders by powder forging, were evaluated over the temperature range of 300-500oC. In addition, it is also found that the microstructures of as-forged specimens have influences on their mechanical properties. Regardless of test temperatures, when the test temperature is increased from 300 to 500oC, the strength of the alloys decreased and their elongation increased. Lastly, the properties of the powder forged Ti-6Al-4V component were compared with those of other manufacturing processes. |
