Nowadays, lithium-ion batteries are applied widely in many areas. Moreover, lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide batteries (NMC batteries) are gradually to replace others types. In this study, we will concentrate on dealing with waste NMC batteries cathode material processing. The hydrometallurgical process will be used to recovery of valuable metals in LIBs. In leaching step, the valuable metals are dissolved in sulfuric acid and the parameters will be investigated. After leaching process is completed, solvent extraction process are used to separate valuable metals. In first stage, the metals will be separated into cobalt with manganese and nickel with lithium by Cyanex 272. In next stage, the cobalt and manganese will be separated by P204, on the other hand, nickel and lithium are conducted selective precipitation by dimethylglyoxime. The factors affecting extraction process such as effect of equilibrium pH and extractant concentration, O/A ratio, temperature will be investigated.
