||Possibility of Manifestation of Dynamic Strain Aging under Severe Plastic Deformation of Low-carbon Steels

The features of manifestation of dynamic strain aging (DSA) are considered for different procedures of severe plastic deformation (SPD) of low-carbon steels, i.e. equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP), high-pressure torsion (HPT) and rolling (a conventional deformation process). Manifestation of DSA under the conditions of gradient structure formation is investigated. It is established that the action of DSA is most active under processing by ECAP and rolling, and least active under HPT processing. The role of hydrostatic pressure for the conditions of shear (ECAP and HPT) in the manifestation of DSA should be noted. The temperatures are identified for the manifestation of DSA under the deformation of the steels by rolling and ECAP. The deformation of steels in the range of DSA temperatures leads to additional structure refinement and enhancement in the strength properties of steels.
